The starting point
I have never been skinny... dainty... small... Even when I was a kid I was a chubby little blond girl who played in the dirt with the boys. Well, I don't really care much for being a tomboy anymore I love dressing up and wearing heels. I love doing my make up. But I am still the overweight person that I have been for years. I know.. the american story. We as americans have started to justify our obese society by posting things like "big is beautiful," and it does prove a point that we are beautiful, but are we healthy? Are we doing the best we can to live full and healthy lives? I can point out things that I find beautiful about myself, but I can also face the fact that I am obese and it is a problem. Well... Not anymore. I am going to fill this blog full of personal goals and achievments. I would love to hear feed back from anyone with ideas to help me out on this journey. I am poor, so although the idea of joining a gym, or buying all organic foods sounds great to me I will be doing this journey on the poor mans wallet. And to start out I am going to be very honest with you. I am 5'2 and 301pounds... That is bad and very gross.. I know.. and in your mind your probabaly thinking "holy, cow she's a hippo." But hopefully by the end of this journey I'll be a lot less... I don't have a long term goal placed but I have several small goals. I don't want to become so skinny that all my bones stick out and I don't feel comfortable in my skin, but I do want to be healthy. So this is my journey and I hope you follow me.

I'm in the same boat with you Gabby. I know that you can do this and I think it would be great if we could help each other with this!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that has helped me is buying fresh fruits and vegetables to snack on. It's actually a lot cheaper than fast food (I was surprised). Another thing I can recommend is to force yourself to walk even when you don't feel like it because you'll feel great afterwords (trust me, there have been many times I've had to force myself to do it, too).
I believe in you Gabby! :)
